The customer was a manufacturer of charging stations for electric cars. The customer was looking for a suitable touch interface for a corresponding outdoor charging station. The HMI solution had to be available in the long term and demonstrate reliability in use.
We replaced the bought-in community board that the customer had used for the proof of concept with our off-the-shelf Qseven standard module, which guarantees reliability and an industrial temperature range. In addition, our modules have built-in heat sinks on critical components and the display is thermally isolated from the rest of the HMI. Through modifications to the software, we are able to dial down the power even at extreme temperatures to ensure proper use.
We looked at the client's requirements and first analysed what problems there were with the previously used board. Then we offered the customer a reliable solution as an alternative for this board, which is also suitable for use in an industrial temperature range and meets all the customer's requirements.
μQseven® module with NXP i.MX 6 Processor
"The customer started with a PoC made with a commercial community board. This was not a reliable solution and industrial operating temperature range was not supported. With SECO’s standard off-the-shelf μQseven module they found a reliable solution through a reliable partner."
