SECO launches Saylor, new 3.5″ Single Board Computer with Rockchip RK3568 processor

High-level Arm® processing performance and low power consumption for lightweight AIoT applications.

SECO, a global leader of innovative Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions, today introduces to its Single Board Computer (SBC) portfolio a new 3.5″ form-factor solution, SAYLOR, based on the Rockchip RK3568 processor.  SAYLOR can be used for various lightweight artificial intelligence (AI) applications, but mainly targets markets such as network video recorder (NVR) storage and edge computing, in-vehicle control, digital signage, vending, and information kiosks.

The Rockchip RK3568 is a high-performance and low power quad-core Arm® application processor based on advanced 22nm processing technology, designed for personal mobile internet device and artifical intelligence of things (AIoT) equipment. Its integrated G52-2EE graphics processor supports up to 4K video decoding and 1080P encoding. An embedded video processing unit (VPU) offers hardware accelerated decoding/encoding of many video compression standards (H.264, VP8, VP9, MPEG-4/MPEG-2/VP8). A built-in independent Neural Processing Unit (NPU) supports mainstream deep learning frameworks, such as TensorFlow, Caffe, Pytorch, and Onnx.

SAYLOR incorporates the RK3568 on a 3.5″ standard form factor SBC with a wide range of peripherals that, due to the all-in-one nature of its design, minimizes product design effort and accelerates product development and deployment.

With 2x Gigabit Ethernet ports, optional M.2 1216 module for wireless networking (WLAN) 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac + BT 5.0, and M.2 Socket 2 Key B for LTE module with on-board microSIM slot, SAYLOR offers a range of connectivity options. The board also provides 2x USB 3.0, 3x USB 2.0 and 1x USB OTG interfaces; 2x 4 wire RS-232 / RS-422 / RS-485 UARTs; TRRS combo audio jack (stereo microphone input, stereo line output) and mono speaker output; 8x GPIO; 2x CAN; and more. SAYLOR also includes an M.2 Socket 2 Key M for AI accelerator modules and up to two MIPI-CSI cameras. Rich in graphic support, SAYLOR can drive up to three independent displays – HDMI® and eDP up to 4K video, and LVDS up to 1080p resolution. The board provides up to 4 GB of soldered DDR4-3200 memory. Mass storage is provided through a soldered eMMC 5.1 flash memory which functions as the primary boot device. A microSD slot provides a secondary boot device. I2C and QSPI flash is also supported.

Operative systems supported are Android and Yocto Linux. From March 14th to 16th, SAYLOR and many other products based on latest technologies will be showcased at SECO booth 1-320 during the embedded Exhibition&Conference at the Exhibition Center in Nuremberg, Germany.
