SECO launches a new fanless box pc based on the Rockchip RK3399 processor

SECO enhances its family of Smart Edge box PCs with PICTOR, a fanless embedded computer providing an excellent balance between computing and graphics performance, together with low power consumption.

PICTOR incorporates SECO’s SOLON Single Board Computer (formerly codenamed SBC-C31), which features a Rockchip RK3399 processor (with 2x Cortex®-A72 cores + 4x Cortex®-A53 Cores, up to 1.8GHz in a 64-bit architecture optimized for high-end applications). Complex graphic rendering is enhanced by its 4-core Mali-T860MP4 graphics processing unit (GPU) and an embedded video processing unit (VPU) enabling hardware decoding/encoding of many commonly used video compression standards (H.264, VP8, VP9, MPEG-4/MPEG-2/VP8). PICTOR provides multiple display options including HDMI® and a DisplayPort interface on its USB Type-C connector, with up to 4K video resolution.

PICTOR supports up to 4GB of 64-bit soldered down LPDDR4 memory, with an optional eMMC 5.1 nonvolatile flash storage on-board. Its many connectivity options include: 2x Gigabit Ethernet; USB 2.0/3.0; 2 x RS-232 or RS-485 ports (factory options) on external DB9-M connectors; optional on-board Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac) + Bluetooth 5.0 radio; and optional on-board LTE modem with miniSIM slot or eSIM. SECO offers Linux and Android operating systems for PICTOR.

Its impressive processing and graphics performance, combined with the high level of flexibility – including optional VESA 100 bracket and DIN standard mounting plate accessories– make PICTOR the ideal solution for digital signage and multimedia applications.
